HISTORYIn 1945, there was a tremendous housing shortage across the country, and the residents of Statesville, NC, were in need of good, reliable homebuilders. It was then that the late Gordon L. Wilson, with only ten employees and limited resources, set out to meet the market demand. By 1950, this growing company shifted its emphasis from residential building to industrial and public construction. G.L. Wilson Building Company became known for its expertise in this area, and by the mid-1960s, the company expanded from a local to a multi-stage contractor offering a diverse selection of products, including pre-engineered metal buildings. Over the years, there have been many changes in construction designs, supplies, equipment, costs and market demands. Although G.L. Wilson Building Company has progressed just as the industry has, we have remained true to Gordon L. Wilson’s original promise: to create quality products, efficiently and economically. |
