The Morrison Plantation site housed the original bank building, which remained in operation during the new bank’s construction. The project was split into two phases to transition seamlessly from the old facility into the new one. Phase one consisted of constructing the new building, and phase two revolved around demolishing the original bank. "G.L. Civil Engineer Field Employee Civil Engineer Apply Now Classification: Full Time This position is responsible for professional engineering work in support of a wide range of complex commercial and industrial construction projects. Emphasis is on preparation of construction drawings, calculations, applications, and other documents as required to gain approval from regulatory agencies in a timely manner. Duties and Responsibilities Design and Engineering Design storm water management systems including swales, piping systems, ponds, etc. using storm water modeling and design software. Prepare site plans for client authorization, ultimately gaining municipal approval. Design philosophy should complement neighboring properties while meeting project parameters and budget. Conduct on site inspections to verify work is being performed in accordance with the construction drawings. Coordinate design with other disciplines assisting on the project (architectural, survey, geotechnical, M/E/P, etc.) Assist Project Manager with quantity estimates on in house design as well as bid projects. Project Support Coordinate and maintain open communication with Superintendent/Project Manager regarding project schedule and constructability to assure project success. Provide technical advice to Project Managers and Superintendents regarding design, construction modifications or schedule. Witness and certify required testing and inspections for utility installations (potable water, sanitary sewer, SCM, etc.) Scheduling Provide input into the scheduling of projects to meet the client’s required deadline. Anticipate and resolve unforeseen circumstances encountered in the field to eliminate delays and costly rework. Qualifications Education/Experience Four-year degree in engineering N.C. professional engineering license 3 to 5 years experience as a PE preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD with design and drafting and a working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Civil Suite Experience with planning and zoning processes and land development ordinances Knowledge Civil engineering with emphasis on storm water management and erosion control ordinances. Proficiency with site plan development using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, design/engineering for commercial construction, information analysis, customer relations, reporting skills, estimating, decision-making, teamwork, documentation skills and quality focus. Storm water management and erosion control design standards and ordinances Site Coordination Skills Understanding of Earthwork and Storm Drainage Installation Methods, Field Experience is a plus Understanding of GPS machine control and coordination with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Civil Suite Understanding of soil mechanics and methods for achieving soil compaction/density as required by project specifications. Ability/willingness to troubleshoot field conflicts with field personnel. Ability/Willingness to adjust to changing field conditions to support field productivity. Other Skills and Abilities Engineering and Technology. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment. Design. Wilson Building Company has a long history of working with Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County. A significant addition (7,800 SF) to the main building and the construction of a new administration building (12,500 SF) followed, as well as a second-floor upfit (3,000 SF) in the administration building completed in the mid-2000s, which added space for more programming to meet the expanding community's need for services. “G.L. The center includes four anchor tenants: Staples (15,764 square feet), T.J. Maxx (23,600 square feet), Michaels (14,293 square feet), and PetSmart (14,013 square feet). The tenant exteriors and upfits for Staples, T.J. Maxx, and Michaels were designed by COR3 Design, LLC, while the upfit for PetSmart was designed by Interplan, PLLC. "We awarded a shopping center project with an aggressive schedule to G.L. Wilson. They made efforts at every level of their organization to work through challenges and deliver the project on time. Statesville, NC Parker Hannifin Statesville, NC This project in the Crawford Road industrial district represents a strong example of a total renovation and upfit of an existing structure. The scope of work covered two sections: office and manufacturing spaces. The manufacturing floor received new dock seals, dock levelers, truck restraints, portal steel, sidewalks, and windows. Installation of new mechanical units and restroom upgrades, including tile, fixtures, vanities, lighting, cabinets in the kitchen and breakrooms, ceilings, doors, and storefronts, were core items addressed on the office side. The demolition of the existing space, as well as extensive electrical and flooring/floor refinishing, encompassed the entirety of the renovated area. Design/Build by G.L. Wilson Building Company.
