G.L. Wilson Building Company History and Executive Management Team OUR HISTORY In 1945, when America faced a critical housing shortage, Gordon L. Wilson saw opportunity. With just ten employees and unwavering determination, he began building homes for Iredell County families who needed them most. By 1950, our growing reputation opened new doors. We evolved beyond residential work into industrial, public, and healthcare construction—tackling bigger challenges and serving broader communities. The mid-1960s marked our transformation from local builder to multi-state contractor, a testament to our adaptability and relentless pursuit of excellence. Today, four generations later, we’re 77 employees strong with 81 years of proven expertise. But we’re not resting on our legacy—we’re building the future, one innovative project at a time. Wilson, Sr. (Tom) joined his father at G.L. Wilson Building Company in 1960, although his career was interrupted soon after by the U.S. Army calling him to active duty. Bob Palmes VP of Business Development Bob came to G.L. Wilson Building Company in 1994 with a varied background in local and regional business development communities. Edwin Laws, CPA Controller/Treasurer Edwin, appointed as Controller and Treasurer at G.L. Wilson Building Company in June 2021, has 40 years of accounting, auditing, and management experience. Thomas Wilson, Jr. Vice President Thomas likes to say that his first job with G.L. Wilson was mowing grass as a kid. He formally joined the company in 1994 and has worked as an estimator and project manager. Robert Palmes, Jr. Vice President & Director of Operations Robert came to G.L. Wilson Building Company in 2013, making him the fourth generation of Wilsons to work for the family business. Julia Wilson, AIA Vice President Julia joined G.L. Wilson Building Company in early 2006 and has over thirty years of management experience in general construction, strategic planning, and architecture. Kristin Flora, PHR Director of Human Resources Kristin joined G.L. Wilson Building Company at the end of 2015 with over 10 years of experience as a Human Resource professional.

Statesville, NC Kewaunee Scientific Corporation Statesville, NC One of G.L. Wilson’s earliest industrial customers, in 1955, the Technical Furniture, Inc. plant (today known as Kewaunee Scientific Corp) became one of the flagship modern manufacturing operations to call Statesville home. G.L. Wilson built the original plant and has worked with Kewaunee over the last seven decades on expansions, renovations, and new construction projects. Design/Build by G.L. Wilson Building Company. Mooresville, NC BestCo Mooresville, NC This project was conceptualized by the G.L. Wilson in-house design/civil engineering team. G.L. Wilson grading crews worked throughout the winter moving dirt during one of the rainiest winters on record with no change orders and delivered ahead of schedule. G.L. Wilson Building Company crews self-performed electrical and site work for this project. The majority of the floor plan is dedicated to storage and shipping/receiving areas. The office section includes administration space, employee break room, bathrooms, and employee changing areas. Design/Build by G.L. Wilson’s self-perform grading crew we couldn’t have asked for a better response. The G.L. Wilson site crew increased manpower and equipment, worked longer hours, made up 30-45 days of lost time, and did not send a single change order. This amazing attitude and mindset were seen time and time again throughout the project and made typically hard discussions fluid and easy conversations. G.L. Taylorsville, NC Paragon Films Taylorsville, NC G.L. Wilson originally constructed Paragon Films’ building in the mid-1990s as a speculative building. In 2005, 2009, 2020, 2022, and 2024, G.L. Wilson worked with them to design and build over 143,000 SF of manufacturing additions to meet their growing needs. These additions were completed during normal operations, and the G.L. Wilson team worked to create flexible solutions to keep business moving along without interruptions. Design/Build by G.L. Wilson Building Company. “G.L. Statesville, NC DENSO Statesville, NC Starting with the original manufacturing plant built in the 1980s, DENSO (formerly known as ASMO) has been a long-time design-build client of G.L. Wilson Building Company. In the last four decades, G.L. Wilson has completed over 380,500 square feet of new construction projects, additions, accessory buildings, interior renovations, and specialized equipment foundations on the DENSO campus. Wilson has continued to support our company’s growth through the years and in particular to my role; their expertise in designing and building pit foundations for large stamping presses. The communication and service is top notch and their Project Engineers are always just a call away and willing to accommodate most requests during the project. Various Locations Randy Marion Dealerships Various Locations Randy Marion Ford/Lincoln Dealership, located in Statesville, NC, features numerous sales and service department offices on the first floor, a spacious showroom with a two-story glass storefront, and an extensive vehicle service area. Completing the project in stages allowed for the opening of Randy Marion Ford before the Lincoln Dealership was finished. Located approximately fifty feet from Ford, the Lincoln site had safety barriers erected to separate dealership operations from construction activities with minimal interruptions. With the many high-quality materials used throughout, Randy Marion Lincoln embodies the luxury associated with the brand. This project also involved significant site work, paving, and ample parking areas to house the vehicle inventory. Design/Build by G.L. Wilson Building Company.

Union Grove, NC Union Grove Lumber Union Grove, NC To bring their new headquarters to life, Union Grove Lumber hired G.L. Wilson Building Company to coordinate this intensive renovation project. Adding unique interior and exterior design elements, including a sawdust-filled feature wall, the space now houses a full kitchen, large conference spaces, offices, a children’s playroom, and a receiving lobby. Design/Build by G.L. Wilson Building Company. “Our project began with a building that originated in 1985 and had not seen any updates in 37 years. Designers and engineers were first on site to analyze the ‘situation at hand’- after many brainstorming sessions and analyzing what we wanted vs. what was reality, we confirmed a plan of action. This was a HUGE project for us, and G.L. Wilson understood that and accommodated many meetings and visionary discussions. Once ‘the ground broke’ on our project, the project manager and the site manager kept us updated each step of the way. They welcomed our many visits and ensured that our process was smooth. As with any remodel, hiccups were experienced but were swiftly ironed out to keep the project flowing. Relationships are key with any construction project; we fully trusted the entire G.L. Wilson team. Our company’s motto is “On Target from Start to Finish” – perhaps G.L. Wilson should adopt that motto because it was our experience with them. Our building (inside and out) is gorgeous. Mooresville, NC S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House Mooresville, NC The S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House is the second hospice facility that G.L. Wilson Building Company has partnered with Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County to bring to the region. It was designed by architect David Polston and spans 22,000 square feet. The facility includes various spaces such as offices, patient rooms, an industrial kitchen, family rooms, and two lobbies. Additionally, the site features extensive grounds with water features and gardens for families and guests to enjoy. “G.L. Statesville, NC blueharbor bank: Statesville Statesville, NC STATESVILLE BRANCH The new blueharbor bank branch is located in the heart of Downtown Statesville. This 3,400 Square Feet facility houses multiple offices, a lobby, drive-thru customer access, and conference rooms. This project required careful preparation to avoid causing disruptions in the Downtown area during construction.

Statesville, NC McCombs Steel Statesville, NC The McCombs Steel office addition project included a new cafeteria, employee and executive offices, conference rooms, restrooms, lobby, and entrance, as well as a new exterior facade. “We have entrusted GL Wilson over the years on several of our facility expansions and this was no different. Statesville, NC Alpine Shredding Trucks - Commerce Boulevard Warehouse Statesville, NC Located in the Crawford Business Park district in Statesville, NC, this 12,000 SF pre-engineered metal building is now home to Alpine Shredding. Design/Build by G.L. Wilson Building Company
